COVID 19 Announcement
Tuesday 15th February 2022
Dear Colleagues,
With news of the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions for Northern Ireland in yesterday’s news, I am sure this will be welcome news for many of you. I want to clarify what this means for us as a business in terms of our operating procedures, and appreciating that some colleagues and customers may be unnerved by the news.
Moved from regulation to guidance only, with effect from today, Tuesday 15th February are:
- The need for face masks to be worn in public places
- Working from home - where possible
- Limit on the number of people who can meet indoors
- Social distancing
This means that although we are not bound as an organisation or individuals to follow these regulations, we should as individuals decide if we wish to follow them.
This relaxation does not remove the need for quarantining yourself if you test positive for COVID-19.
The minimum self-isolation period for people testing positive with COVID-19 has already been reduced, subject to negative lateral flow tests on days five and six of a person’s isolation.
It also does not remove the need for maintaining hygiene measures, such as:
- Regular hand washing and sanitizing
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze (not with your hands)
- Sanitize your working station / vehicle when your finish
- Keep rooms regularly well ventilated.
COVID-19 remains dominant across our communities, whilst it is not the same threat it once was for many in our families and communities, it is still an unwelcome pressure and disruption for the NHS and many other organisations, including our own. Over the last month 14% of our total employees have been out of the workplace as a consequence of Covid-19. Therefore, although the guidance states that the vigilance levels required are not as high as before, we should still act with consideration and respect for others.
Thank you, as always, for all your efforts.
