In a heartfelt show of community spirit, a team of volunteers from JP Corry recently spent a day at Cancer Fund for Children’s Daisy Lodge in Newcastle. The day was dedicated to helping with outdoor work around the facility, which provides essential respite services for children and families affected by cancer.
JP Corry volunteers rolled up their sleeves to assist with various outdoor maintenance tasks throughout the day, including planting daffodil bulbs across the grounds, which will bloom in the spring.
The team learned about the critical role the lodge plays in supporting families facing the emotional and physical challenges of a cancer diagnosis. The facility offers therapeutic breaks to families from across Northern Ireland, providing a safe, supportive environment where they can recharge and spend quality time together away from the pressures of hospital visits and treatment schedules.
Speaking about the volunteering day, Ciaran McConnell, Managing Director at JP Corry, said, “As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our local communities, it was a privilege to visit Daisy Lodge with Cancer Fund for Children on our recent volunteering day. Witnessing the incredible work they do and being able to contribute was rewarding for all those involved. Our team takes great pride in making a difference, and we’re honoured to support this charity that brings hope and strength to so many families.”
JP Corry remains dedicated to supporting our new charity partner, Cancer Fund for Children, and their mission and looks forward to future opportunities to collaborate with this important cause.
